Saint John's Day Social for Members & Family

Tuesday, June 22, 2021 - 6:00pm   to   8:00pm

Description

There are few days in the Masonic calendar that call for special celebration. The first is December 27th; the second is June 24th. Why? These are the Masonic Feasts of the Holy Saints John.

We learn in the first degree that all Mason’s hail from the Lodge of the Holy Saints John.  As we walk along the ground floor of King Solomons Temple we learn that the Holy Saints John are the patron Saints of the craft and pillars of our time-honored institution.  Together they form the boundaries of the point within the circle. They are the measure by which we are called to live our lives, circumscribe our passions, and live within the due bounds of humanity. Together, the Holy Saints John are the bisecting lines of 47th Problem of Euclid, which affords the Mason the means of correcting a square. Therefore it is customary for Lodges to hold Masonic celebrations on meeting days closest to their feast days.  The Feast of St. John the Baptist on June 24th has a particular significance as a Masonic anniversary. On June 24, 1717 the first Grand Lodge, the United Grand Lodge of England, was constituted.

In celebration of this feast day, Beukendaal Lodge will host a St. John’s Day Drafternoon and BBQ for members, family, and friends on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 6-8pm. The lodge will be serving Bro. Quicks famous BBQ Pulled Pork and Cheeseburgers along with some summer side dishes. Brothers are asked to bring a 6 pack (beer, cider, soda, etc) to restock our beverage center. I will be passing the Master’s Hat in hopes of collecting donations to support our Lodge Scholarship and Building & Grounds Fund.  Reservations are required to ensure that none go away dissatisfied.  RSVP’s are due to Waybe Gaul, our Lodge Junior Warden.
